Follow through vs Intention
Many initiatives in web development require constant attention. Take blogging for example. Between entries, over a month has elapsed! So that gave me the idea for this entry. We are extremely impressed by our client, Warriors and Wonders (http://www.warriorsandwonders.com) who has been able to keep his large selection of products up-to-date and has been able to keep his sword and knife prices lower than anyone else in Canada. To keep the site current, the administration area of their site was made to be quick and easy to use so anyone could update the prices/discriptions of the products.
The result of all their work to keep the site nice and up to date is that they get great traffic, and clients that know that they will always see something new, which in turn gets great return traffic.
The lesson, keep a site fresh, get more traffic.

The first post
To try and keep up with new trends in online marketing and SEO is not always easy. There are so many 'experts' in the industry and the shroud of secrecy around search engines is thick. But there are sure ways to help bring in traffic to your site. Here is my top 5 things that I think brings in solid traffic, and repeat visitors:
1. Relevant information
2. Have something that your customers actually want. For example, people come to this website because we offer a service that they are looking for information about. Have pages and pages of bios, financial information and irrelevant information does not help anyone make a more informed decision.
3. Keeping your info fresh. Why visit a site that stays the same every day? Check out www.youtube.com for an example of one of the most travelled sites on web. They have new content submitted every minute!
4. Easy navigation. What they are looking for should be accessible within 3 clicks, or basically kiss that visitor good bye because they aren't staying.
5. Avoid clutter. Information overload can be the death of a site. Too many pictures can slow down the load time of a site, too much text can be overwhelming for most users, and too small of a font can keep older surfers without excellent near-vision can get frustrated with microfonts.
